2.TOUCH MY BELLY
I am a fat girl with a plump body, the most prominent thing is my belly.
But I don't hate my belly.
She is soft and heavy, stretching and curling with the changes in my body.
I like my belly as much as I like myself.
So, do you want to touch my belly?
In modern society, body anxiety has become one of the hotly discussed topics. Some people will ask, "What does it feel to be thin?" People with anxious body are full of contradictions about their body: When alone, she is extremely confident, but when she walks out of the house and contrasts with others, she will be enveloped by anxiety. If we use a single standard to measure our body, we will always be anxious and never satisfied. In the traditional context, obesity could easily be used as a language to express other levels of meaning. The activity setting of Touch My Belly is to present obesity itself, so that more people can re-recognize "obesity", heal themselves in the process of enjoying art, and release the contradictions in their hearts. We stack the soft fabric sofas together, like those folds of fat belly. The audience can directly touch or lie on the sofa, the soft touch is like touching a person's stomach. We hope that this activity will not only help obese people think about themselves, but also encourage women to reduce body anxiety and face everything with confidence. We also hope that the audience can think about the relationship between obesity and beauty from a more humanistic perspective, and think about the environment of obese people in society.
